
Honey Animal Biscuits

Buttery honey biscuits that hold their shape for cookie cutters. A good boredom-buster for kids to cut out.
Ingredients
- unsalted butter — softened100 g
- honey50 g
- vanilla extract — 1 tsp5 ml
- plain flour — plus a little extra for kneading250 g
- baking powder — ½ tsp2.3 g
- salt — a pinch0.4 g
Method
- Heat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray.
- Add everything to a bowl and mix together.
- Knead into a smooth dough, adding a little extra flour if needed, then roll out.
- Cut out your shapes, or roll into balls and flatten.
- Bake for 6–10 minutes, depending on the size of your shapes.
- Store in a zip-lock bag in the freezer and pull a few out for lunchboxes, or keep in the pantry for a few days.

Vegan
Golden Syrup Animal Biscuits
- 100 g Dairy-free baking block instead of unsalted butter
- 50 g Golden syrup instead of honey
Chill the dough for 15 minutes before rolling if it feels soft; bake for the same 6–10 minutes.
Gluten-free
- 250 g Gluten-free plain flour instead of plain flour
Roll the dough between two sheets of baking paper as gluten-free dough cracks more easily; bake for the same time.
Dairy-free
- 100 g Dairy-free baking block instead of unsalted butter
Chill the dough for 15 minutes before rolling if it feels soft; baking time is unchanged.
